There was confusion at the Kogi State House of Assembly complex yesterday when the group of 15 members of the Assembly loyal to the embattled Speaker, Momoh Jimoh Lawal, took over the Assembly complex in a commando style.

Though security operatives mounted sentry at the entrance and prevented the group of 15 members from accessing the complex with their official vehicles, they disembarked and trekked the distance while holding the mace.

The gate to the complex, which was under lock and key, was broken and the members found their way into the complex for plenary session.

It was gathered that the Assembly staff gave themselves holiday for fear of any possible clash between the two factions.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, in a judgment delivered by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, reinstated the impeached Speaker, Momoh Jimoh Lawal penultimate week.

The court equally restored the Deputy Speaker, Aliyu Akuh and seven other principal officers of the Assembly, saying the process that led to their purported impeachment on February 16, 2016, was unconstitutional and illegal.
