Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has pledged to run an inclusive government if elected in 2023.

Eno made the pledge at the inauguration of his campaign council by the leader of the party, Governor Udom Emmanuel, at the campaign grounds, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.

He appreciated the support shown to him by the people of Akwa Ibom and the desire of many to be part of the campaign team. He stressed the need for everyone to go to their various units, wards, and council to canvass for votes for the success of the PDP at all levels.

“I’ll like to thank everyone for accepting to be part of the campaign council; for accepting to work with us to achieve the succession plan. I want to thank His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, for the grace of God on him, that has directed him this far. I want to assure you we will not let you down.

“We will ensure we run an all-inclusive government, continue with your legacy projects and ensure that none of them suffers. We will take it to greater heights, we will add value to it. And we will make sure the people of Akwa Ibom continue to derive the full value chain of those legacy projects.

Earlier in his speech, Emmanuel, quoting many Bible verses, said the journey the PDP was embarking on was neither for the swift nor for the strong but on who God supports.

He noted that the campaigns would be issue-based, stating that he had no doubt that Eno would be a successful governor because of his entrepreneurial track record, competence, character and capacity.
