Tragedy, yesterday, hit the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State as its House of Representatives candidate for Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, Ejikeme Omeje, died in an auto crash.

The accident happened along Eden Ani/Nsukka road, near El-Rina Hotel Nsukka.
Sources revealed that the accident occurred when he was coming back from Edem-Ani town, where he attended a political gathering.

He was said to be driving alone along Erina-Edem Ani road when he suddenly lost control, and his car veered into the bush, hitting a tree in the process.

He was rushed to the hospital where doctors on duty confirmed him dead. He was said to have sustained serious injuries from the accident.

State Secretary of the party, Chief Robert Ngwu, confirmed his death, saying that the party would investigate the cause.

“It is tragic, and a big blow on the party,” he said.
