Enugu clears higher institutions to reopen
The Enugu State Government has cleared public and private tertiary institutions in the state to reopen from October 12.
The Federal Government closed down schools in the country in March following COVID-19 outbreak.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uche Eze, the state government said the decision was taken “following the consensus reached with the management of tertiary institutions in Enugu State after a series of consultations”.
According to Eze, each of the institutions will announce its resumption date after meeting the approved COVID-19 safety rules.
The statement said: “The Ministry of Education has set up a monitoring team to ensure that every institution abides by the approved guidelines for safe operations in our schools.”
