Envoy pledges Dutch support for agriculture in Kogi

The Netherlands Ambassador to Nigeria, Marion Kappeyne, has promised her country’s support for the development of agriculture in Ogidi Community of Kogi State.

The Netherlands Ambassador to Nigeria, Marion Kappeyne, has promised her country’s support for the development of agriculture in Ogidi Community of Kogi State.

Kappenye, who gave the hint at the weekend during the 2019 Ogidi Day celebrations, said the Netherlands being a specialist in agriculture, desires to invest in the development of agriculture in the community to boost food security, create wealth and employment for the Nigerian youths.

She said another area of interest to the Netherlands, would be the development of a Wind Mill to utilise the wind, which is abundant in the community, just like the Netherlands.

She commended the Yeyeoba of Ogidi Community and proprietor of Nike Art Gallery, in Lekki, Lagos, Chief (Mrs.) Nike Okundaye, for her interest in promoting the rich culture of the community and the privilege to witness the event.
