Traditional rulers in Epe division of Lagos East senatorial district have dismissed insinuation that the area enjoyed special attention in terms of infrastructural development under the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

The traditional rulers, led by the Oloja of Epe Land, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, appealed to the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his running mate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat to ensure that the master plan of Lagos State for Epe division is well implemented if elected.

Speaking during the endorsement of Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat joint ticket at the palace of Oloja Epe Land yesterday, the traditional ruler told the APC candidate to ensure that all uncompleted projects, including roads, Free Trade zone among others in Epe are completed, if elected next year.

According to Oloja of Epe land, “Epe did not enjoy any special favour under Ambode in terms of infrastructural development. We are appealing to the duo of Sanwo-Olu and his running mate to see to the issue of uncompleted roads and other projects in our area. We also want them to address the issue of poor power supply, security and uncompleted housing projects scattered across Epe and other parts of Lagos East.”

The traditional rulers specifically task Hamzat, whom they referred to as their son and their eyes in Sanwo-olu’s led government to ensure that Lagos East is adequately and well represented in the administration.

While they promised Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat full support in the coming elections, the traditional ruler said: “The ruling party will get 100 per cent of votes across Lagos East in 2019.”

In his remark, Sanwo-Olu said he came to seek the blessings of the traditional rulers in Epe for his 2019 governorship ambition. In a separate event yesterday, Sanwo-Olu assured group of professionals under the umbrella of Sanwo-Olu 4 Lagos Support Group that his government will focus on innovative housing policy that would be of benefit to all as well as workable traffic management in the state. He noted that not less than 48 gridlocks areas have been identified, which his government would effectively tackled.
