Ex-FIDA chairperson joins Imo guber race

Immediate past Chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers Association (FIDA), Imo State, Ndidi Val-Okeoma, has joined the state governorship election race, coming up in November, on the platform of Labour Party (LP).

Speaking to journalist in Owerri, yesterday, Val-Okeoma, said her decision was informed by her vision of “A Repositioned Imo” and her passion to offer purposeful leadership to citizens.

She said: “Notable women across the world have proven that women can be trusted with leadership positions to offer a desired difference in governance for the general good of the people.”

She urged Imo electorate to give her a chance to pilot affairs of the state in November while promising to offer people-oriented policies and inclusive government if elected.

Val-Okeoma added: “Going by what we have seen women achieve across the world, there is no doubt we have all it takes to offer different leadership direction for the people.”

“I am one of the women, who believe that women are capable of leading states and the nation, and I have no doubt that we will deliver if given the opportunity.”
