
Professor Toyin Falola will deliver the third Kwara State University (KWASU) humanities lecture today at the institution’s Mini Convocation Arena.The lecture entitled ‘Humanism and the Future of the Humanities’ hopes to answer several questions in the humanities pertaining to nation building, education and every other sphere of life.
Eminent personalities including first KWASU humanities lecturer, Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, University Of Ghana; and the second, Prof. Gayatri Spivak, Columbia University, New York, are expected at the lecture.
Falola, a professor of African Studies, is a fellow of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN) and Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL).A Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities, The University Of Texas, Falola has written and edited more than 100 books.
