Family eulogises Alile, pioneer DG of NSE

Nigerian Stock Exchange

Pioneer director-general of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Apostle Hayford Alile, has been described as one of Nigeria’s greatest assets who made valuable contributions to national economic growth and policy formulation.

Alile was also the spiritual leader of St. Joseph Chosen Church of God (SJCCG) International.

In a statement signed by his third child, the chief executive officer of Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation, Osayi Alile, the family members expressed sadness over his demise, but were consoled by the exemplary life he lived.

According to her, the philanthropist died in his home on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the age of 80.

“Daddy just had a way about him. He gave 100 per cent to everything he did. You would wonder how a man could excel in career, philanthropy and spirituality, and still be the most amazing father and husband.

My siblings and I are very sad, but we are joyous because we know he lived an exemplary life for us to emulate.

“His work transcended many fields, but most notably as an investment analyst, as well as an economic and financial consultant.

The world has been changed by his tireless work to change the financial landscape of Nigeria; a claim that not many can make.

A multitude of family friends worldwide are left behind, but his spirit of excellence continues through us all,” Osayi said.

Ikponmwosa, his only son, described him as an exemplary leader, while Osaruese, his seventh daughter, noted that his experiences inspired her sense of adventure and individuality.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, their eight children, nine grandchildren and three siblings.
