Fashion industry can boost Nigeria’s economy— Experts
Fashion industry has been identified as one of the sectors that the government could use to boost the nation’s economic growth.
Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Exhibition Ltd., Mr. Ayodeji Olugbade, said this ahead of the forthcoming Lagos Fashion Fair billed to hold from September 7 to September 9, 2022, in Lagos.
Olugbade said this year’s Lagos Fashion Fair, would be held in partnership with Africa Fashion Week Nigeria and would feature Master Class with Toyin Lawani, renowned Tiannah’s Empire Couture.
The founder, Africa Fashion Week Nigeria, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, said, “The government should focus on using fashion as another non-oil export to grow our nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
“Our creative talents are already translating the fashion sector into wealth creation. Lagos Fashion Fair and Africa Fashion Week Nigeria’s fusion will offer an opportunity for creative designers, fashion professionals, stylists, retailers, models, trend setters and consumers to buy wholesale.”
