Reactions to governments increase in the price of petrol have been fast and furious with Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose accusing President Mohammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress (APC) of subjecting Nigerians to Advanced Fee Fraud over the removal of fuel
subsidy and increment of pump price from N86.50 to N145 per litre.

Fayose described the increment as wickedness taken too far asking; “was the Federal Government paying up to N58.50 as subsidy on one litre of petrol before now?”

Fayose, who in a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Assistant on  Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka reiterated his call on Nigerians, especially the labour movement to resist what he called “this wicked act of President Buhari and his party”, adding that; “those who opposed removal of fuel subsidy in 2012 and funded the Occupy Nigeria protest must not be allowed to get away with this imposition of hardship on Nigerians now that they are in power.”

While describing President Buhari as a hypocrite, the governor said; “Nigerians should be reminded that the president once said that petrol subsidy never existed and that it was a fraud. How then can the same President Buhari tell us that he has removed the same subsidy he claimed never existed?

“The reality is that these people lied to Nigerians too much. They made promises they knew they won’t fulfill just to get to power. Now they are showing Nigerians their true colours. They are showing Nigerians that they have come to punish them with hardship.

“Buhari and his APC promised to reduce petrol pump price to from N87 to N45 per litre; petrol is now N145. They promised to create three million jobs per year; they have instead created millions of unemployment. They said $1 will be equal to N1; $1 is now N320.”

Fraudulent Fayose is saying the govt. should continue with petrol subsidy so that all his corrupt cronies can continue to milk the country dry. It seems that any positive step taken by the govt. to correct all the crisis created by PDP, Fraudulent Fayose never give the present administration any credit for taking bold steps to revive the economy. EFCC should not forget Fayose fraudulent One billion naira Ekiti poultry project. Fayose must account for the money.

Did your man Buhari not give these promises mentioned above
Has he fulfilled any of them?
Yet for you buhari is still fantastically clueful!
      Keep deceiving yourself!

Blind, stupid, idiotic and poor in thought and in expression. You did not understand Fayose because you have refused to accept your stupidity and mistake in voting a tyrant who can never take any ethical decision meant for the general good into power. Did he ever resist removal of subsidy and did he make all the fraudulent promises, the answer is YES. Your hatred for Fayose for attacking your Cainish and Kenite descendant will eventually destroy you. Fayose will not stop saying the truth which will continue to hurt you. Your man can not continue to correct all the crisis created by PDP by creating more crisis, infact, more crisis within one year than that created in 16 years. Meanwhile, we know of terribly corrupt politicians of PDP origin still in his cabinet. A president whose educational credentials are still suspect cannot be said to be scrupulously clean. You so called APC supporters should continue to deceive yourselves until his cattle and Fulani herdsmen invade your household and destroy all of you.

My friend please stick to the point of the article. . The Governor has made some salient points.. only a few years ago when it was suggested that subsidy be removed (by the pdp led government i might add),  these persons in power today kicked against it.. they funded rallies and protests.. , and then suddenly the idea is feasible? ? We have to stop decieving ourselfs in this country.. opposition is great. . Its a good catalyst for growth, but opposition should always be objective. . Objectivity is what is greatly lacking in the politics of our nation. . Evidently the Apc then only sponsored oppositions soly because they sought power themselves, not because of the interest of the average Nigerian.., and as we have seen, the apc led government of today is not doing any better than the immediate past administration.., dollar is still alarmingly high against our naira, fuel queues are arguably worsening, our debt profile is getting ever higher, (and this is amist highly documented assertions that the fed govt has recovered money looted by previous administrations).. where is the money? How much has been recovered?  Is it being put to any use beneficial to the average Nigerian?  Well your guess is as good as mine..
The apc came into power amist high expectations,  expectations fuelled by "fantastic"  promises they made.., but the truth on ground today is many of these promises have not been addressed, some have even been recanted.., and d apc is performing well below satisfactory..

The point being made here is that we have to b honest with ourselves,  and address issues objectively for the progress of Nigeria,  not jst for selfish or blind political motivations or affiliations . . #My 2 cents

    Mr.Emeka,
It’s a pity that Fraudulent Fayose is your hero, despite the fact that he stole one billion naira through fraudulent poultry project. He robbed Ekiti people from having good schools. Can you imagine how many classrooms that can be built with the stolen money. Instead Fayose built himself mansions with the stolen money. Until people like Fayose are sent to jail for all his atrocities, Nigeria will not survive.
Mr. Emeka, you can point to facts in your writings without been abusive. Be a gentleman.
