FCC tasks UCH on equitable appointments

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has tasked the management of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, to always adhere to the principles of proportional sharing of positions.

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has tasked the management of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, to always adhere to the principles of proportional sharing of positions.

Executive Chairman of FCC, Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, gave the directive when she led a delegation of the commission on a visit to the hospital management in Ibadan.

Three commissioners of the commission, representing Oyo, Ogun, and Abia states, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, Mr. Abiodun Akinlade, and Mr. Henry Ogbulogo respectively, were on the entourage.

Dankaka said the FCC was established to ensure equitable distribution of positions and resources in the country.

According to her, the commission is to promote, monitor, and enforce compliance with the principles of proportional sharing of all bureaucratic, economic, and political posts at all levels of government.

In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, said the commission had lived up to its tenets over the years, assuring the commission’s team that UCH would continue to subscribe to its principles and guidance.
