The FCT Police Command is investigating a fatal train accident that claimed the life of a yet-to-be-identified woman along the Gwagwa-Idu railway line.

FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, who disclosed this, hinted that on March 24, 2025, at around 11:00 AM, FCT Police responded to a distress call reporting an unconscious female on the railway tracks behind Zeberced Company, Idu.

She noted that upon arrival, officers found a lifeless and disfigured female body, believed to have been struck by a train.

She said, “The remains were evacuated to Kubwa General Hospital, where her death was confirmed. Efforts are ongoing to identify her and locate her relatives.

“The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Isyaku Sharu, urges residents to exercise caution around railway lines and adhere to safety regulations. Anyone with useful information should contact the police.”
