The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has taken delivery of 219,800 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), according to the Acting Secretary, Health and Human Secretariat, Dr. Mohammed Kawu.

He assured that the jabs currently being administered on Nigerians were safe and efficacious, appealing to every eligible citizen to take the therapy for further containment of the virus across the federation.

Kawu, who spoke yesterday in Abuja, explained that the country would not be considered safe until over 70 per cent of the population was vaccinated against the disease. He noted: “The President of this country, the Vice President and all the political leaders have taken the vaccine.”

If it is not safe, we are not that bad as to allow our President, governors and other political leaders to take this vaccine. So, rest assured the vaccine is safe.”
