Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) Wednesday approved $1.5 billion for the immediate rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva disclosed this after the Council meeting presided over by President Mohammadu Buhari.

Sylva said the contract for the rehabilitation was awarded to an Italian firm, Tecnimont SPA, and is expected to be executed in three phases.
