On July 19, 2025, The Guardian published a report headlined: “Ex-loyalist slams Dogara for taking appointment from ‘Muslim-Muslim’ govt” on its online and social media platforms. The publication in question contained allegations of facts made by a certain Maigida Yakubu against Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara. However, we have subsequently discovered that the allegations were not duly verified before publication.

Accordingly, The Guardian hereby fully and unreservedly retracts every allegation of fact bordering on the reputation and personality of Hon. Dogara in the instant publication.

Further, we wish to clarify that the publication was not motivated by malice, bad faith, or spite against Hon. Dogara in any respect whatsoever. The Guardian holds Hon. Dogara in great esteem and will not wilfully do, or cause to be done, anything capable of tarnishing or lowering his image in the estimation of rational minds.

In light of the foregoing, The Guardian respectfully and unequivocally tenders unreserved apologies to Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara. We highly regret any inconvenience the subject publication might have caused the distinguished Chair of the Credit Guarantee Company.
