Federal lawmaker describes recent surge in bandits’ attacks in Zamfara as alarming

A member representing Bukkuyum/Gummi federal constituency of Zamfara State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Suleiman Abubakar Gummi has expressed concerns over the persistent banditry activities ravaging the State.

 

The federal lawmaker noted that the ongoing banditry, not only affect his constituency, but also poses a serious threat to the entire State.

 

This was stated in a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen Gusau, the State capital.

 

Acording to the statement, he emphasized the need for relevant authorities to intensify more efforts to addressing the persistent banditry activities bedeviling the entire State for over two decades.

 

Although currently engaged in an official foreign assignment, Hon. Gummi said he has been receiving reports regarding the frequency of bandits’ attacks in his constituency and has promptly communicated these developments to the Nigerian Army, police, and other pertinent authorities.

 

He commended the security personnel for their dedication and sacrifices in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property of the people, urging them to devise innovative strategies to enhance the effectiveness of their operations and restore peace by eradicating banditry in the State.

 

Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi affirmed his commitment to utilizing all available resources to ensuring the provision of adequate logistics and comprehensive support to motivate security operatives in achieving their objectives.

 

Additionally, he called upon the general public to persist in their efforts to conduct special prayers, seeking divine intervention to eliminate banditry and other forms of criminal activities in Zamfara State and across Nigeria.
