National Security Council is outlawing motorcycles and mining activities as part of fresh measures to curb terrorism in Nigeria.

Addressing reporters after a meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said investigation was ongoing to establish correlation between mining and motorcycles as instruments to aid insurgency.

Joined by Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, Malami noted that terrorists have moved from the conventional ways of funding their activities to mining and ransom taking.

He said the authorities were not unaware of the economic consequences, adding that it had become imperative to guarantee security for all.

Aregbesola hinted that plans were on to sanction those whose inactions led to the recent Kuje jailbreak.
