The Federal Government has developed a draft policy on virtual meetings and engagements in the federal civil service. The document was initiated by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in partnership with the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, who disclosed this while delivering a lecture at the Course 82 graduation of the National Defence College yesterday in Abuja, submitted that the COVID-19 pandemic had forced government to adopt technology in governance, increasing the need to promote e-governance in an orderly manner.

He said the initiative was set for presentation at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in the coming weeks. The minister said the proposed policy would promote the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy Document of the current administration.
