One of the nation’s monument, the Glass House at the National Assembly Annex in Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Lagos, was yesterday afternoon gutted by fire.

A trader at the scene said the fire started at about 3.00pm.According to him, it was sympathetic seeing another monument wasted.

But the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Adebayo Kehinde, who spoke to The Guardian on phone said emergency rescuers including LASEMA, Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), fire fighters, police officers and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) team were able to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.The General Manager of LASEMA, Michael Kolawole Akindele Kehinde, said no life was lost in the incident.
