Five feared dead in Rivers auto crash

No fewer than five persons were feared dead yesterday in an early morning auto crash at NTA road by Okilton junction in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

No fewer than five persons were feared dead yesterday in an early morning auto crash at NTA road by Okilton junction in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. 

The Guardian gathered that a driver of a Lexus saloon car, who was on high speed, rammed into a parked sewage truck on the road.

Eyewitness disclosed that the victims were three men and two ladies who were returning from a night party. Family members of the victims were seen at the scene of accident to identify the bodies after the news broke. 

According to one of the eyewitnesses, Mr. Micheal Ndu, “The heavy truck was parked here and the driver of the Lexus car, who was on high speed and was drunk and rammed into it.”

Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident, describing it as a terrible situation. Omoni said, “Our men are there evacuating the corpses and the police has commenced investigations to unravel the cause of the accident.”
