Foundation donates medical equipment to Delta state

Medical equipment including Haematocrit Analyzer kits and electrophoresis machine worth over N10m have been donated to the 05 Initiative, the pet project of Dame Edith Okowa, wife of Delta State Governor to facilitate the execution of sickle cell projects in public health institution in Delta State.

Medical equipment including Haematocrit Analyzer kits and electrophoresis machine worth over N10m have been donated to the 05 Initiative, the pet project of Dame Edith Okowa, wife of Delta State Governor to facilitate the execution of sickle cell projects in public health institution in Delta State.

Making the donation at Government House Asaba, U.S based renowned family physician and founder of Isioma Okobah Foundation, Dr. Mrs. Isioma Okobah said the gesture was aimed at complimenting what she called “the genuine passion and commitment so far demonstrated by Dame Edith Okowa towards tackling the menace of sickle cell disorder in the society”.

Receiving the equipment, the founder of 05 Initiative and wife of Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa described Dr. Mrs. Isioma Okobah as a woman whose humanitarian work has earned her international accolade, particularly in the area of free medical care for the rural populace.Dame Okowa noted the gesture would go a long way towards boosting the efforts of the 05 Initiative to speedily bring sickle cell pandemic to a zero level in the state.
