In a bid to continually empower women with adequate skills and resources they need, the Enterprise Growth & Opportunities (EGO), a non-profit organisation focused on empowering women through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and business development programs, has concluded its SheEnabled project in Bauchi State, empowering over 2,112 women with essential financial literacy skills.

In collaboration with Access Bank, this initiative aims to equip women with the knowledge and tools necessary to manage their finances effectively and grow their businesses.

The SheEnabled project in Bauchi targeted the market women, with training sessions held in Wunti Market and Muda Lawal Market as Participants were introduced to fundamental bookkeeping concepts and best practices, which are critical for sustaining and expanding their enterprises.

One of the project’s key highlights was the distribution of locally translated pamphlets titled “Bookkeeping Made Easy.”

These practical resources provided women with step-by-step guidance on tracking sales, inventory, and expenses, empowering them to make informed financial decisions.

In addition to the financial literacy training, EGO Foundation also offered business grant opportunities to participants, and they also had the chance to pitch their business ideas, with selected proposals receiving funding to support and expand their ventures.

The Executive Director of EGO Foundation, Toluwase Olaniyan, noted that the foundation is committed to continuing efforts to support women entrepreneurs across Nigeria and Africa.

He said, “Empowering women with financial literacy is essential for driving economic growth and creating sustainable livelihoods. We are thrilled to have brought the SheEnabled project to Bauchi State.

“The EGO Foundation remains dedicated to its mission of fostering economic empowerment for women and looks forward to replicating the success of the SheEnabled project in other regions.”
