Foundation fetes Abuja community at yuletide season


To alleviate poverty and hunger in local communities, Hope Raiser Global Foundation has provided food items to a local community in Guzape area of the Federal Capital Territory.

The hard-to-reach village located on a mountain of one of high brow areas of Abuja metropolis has been in existence for decades with little or no assistance from the government or well-meaning Nigerians.

However the foundation with the mission to fight hunger, poverty lack as well as a guiding principle centered on DEED an acronym for, Discover, Educate, Empower, Deploy, reached out to people in the community food items including rice, groundnut oil, spaghetti among others.

The Chief Executive Officer of Hope Raisers Global Foundation CEO, Amb (Mrs) Angonimi David-Imeh during the outreach stated that some of their partners including Onome Food Market, CHATS (Convexity Humanitarian Aid Transfer Solutions), The Joyce Daniels Organisation among other individuals had located the community to put smiles on the faces of the settlers.

She said, “It was an epic journey but a worthwhile exercise as we eventually got to interact with and provided for people in a place far away from reality.”

David-Imeh mentioned that the gesture is in line with the current economic crunch that has led to massive impoverishment with a severe impact on Internally Displaced Persons and less Privileged and Underserved Communities.

She said “Statistics has shown that even average earners have fallen below poverty lines and now competing with the very low income earners/non earners like the displaced persons.”

The CEO of the foundation explained that the initiative was to commemorated our 2023 Yuletide Outreach themed “A Christmas With Hope ” An initiative aimed at supplying food stuff to a specific number of households through a technologically driven medium, saying about 320 homes were reached.

A member of the community Mrs Joy Gift while beaming with joy expressed her happiness saying this is the first time they are receiving such gesture. She said “this is a pleasant surprise please don’t forget to back and visit us again.”

Ahmed Yisah a member of the community however lamented that being a mountain village they lack portable water as their only water source has been contaminated

He however appealed to philanthropist, well meaning individuals, agencies, businesses, partners and good hearted individuals to come their rescue by securing the health of our people in this geographical space.
