Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has commissioned the remodeled Dental, Maxillofacial Ear Nose Throat, and Ophthalmology Hospital, pledging to remain committed to improved healthcare of the citizens.
According to him, the hospital has been remodeled and made functional with taxpayers’ money, requiring the people, who will use it, to own it by ensuring that it is not vandalised or the equipment misused.
The governor also said that soon, the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital Board and the Healthcare Management Board would be reconstituted to handle the issue of employment in the health sector, in order to utilise their quota of the ongoing recruitment of 10,000 persons.
Fubara said his commitment aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration that is anchored on restoring the hope of citizens and improving the economy and social wellbeing of the people.
He stated this, yesterday, at the opening of the hospital located beside Rebisi Flyover in Port Harcourt.
The governor said his administration is committed to advancing the interest and welfare of Rivers people, declaring that nothing can cause a deviation.
Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Oreh, said the project, delivered before the stipulated 16 months, is designed to offer specialised health services to patients, for training and medical research.
