A group, Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF), has called on Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-rufai to fulfill his 2015 campaign promises by taking his children to public schools.

It noted that laying good example by the governor would restore the lost hope in public schools.

The call was contained in a statement by the group’s president, Abdulsalam Muhammad Kazeem, who also commended the governor for reopening tertiary institutions in Southern Kaduna after their indefinite closure.

He said, “we are fully convinced that the delay by Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai the Executive Governor of Kaduna State in the re-opening of campuses in the Southern part of the state is purely base on security reasons.

“With this development the executive governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, has been vindicated because most people earlier believed that the continued closure of the campuses is based on hatred, religious and political reasons.

“We appreciate the effort of Kaduna State Government, particularly in areas of educational development cutting across the 23 local government areas. We call on other governors to emulate him, by getting the blueprint of Kaduna State Educational Project, as it will help to shape the future of our generations and the generation yet unborn.

“We appeal to all stakeholders in the southern part of Kaduna state to give the government and security agencies the needed support, assistance information and cooperation needed towards fishing out the perpetrators of evil. The academic and business activities will not be interrupted for any selfish or political reasons.”
