FUOYE VC pledges collaboration with Fayemi on food security in Ekiti

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Abayomi Fasina, has assured Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti that the institution will collaborate with his administration to ensure food security in the state.

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Abayomi Fasina, has assured Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti that the institution will collaborate with his administration to ensure food security in the state.

Fasina gave the assurance in Ado-Ekiti when he led his management team on a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor, Bisi Egbeyemi.

The vice chancellor stated that he appreciated the enormous support of the state government toward the development of the university.

“Your administration has given us a road, some social amenities and even given one of us a chance to serve in your government and the person is performing well.

“We want to seek for your continued. I know you very well, as we have worked together for many years. I was part of those who supported the establishment of the College of Agriculture in Isan-Ekiti, home town of Gov. Fayemi, and today it is there and I am very happy.

“We are seeking for total support and whatever you want us to do we will and whenever you call me I will respond earnestly,” he said.

Fasina assured the state government that he would use his office as the vice chancellor to collaborate with the Fayemi-led administration to ensure that more development was brought to the state in due time.

Responding, Deputy Governor Egbeyemi said that the emergence of Fasina as the vice chancellor of FUOYE, was a dream come true for Ekiti.

“We wanted our dear son, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, to be the vice chancellor of FUOYE and God has helped us to make him to be there; he married my daughter, his wife is not a distant relation, but we are of the same royal family.

“Fasina has been very wonderful in the way he works and that is why his elevation to the position of the vice chancellor was possible.

“Everyone, who spoke to us about him, gave a very positive assessment of his character, they will say he is charitable, sincere, cheering and charismatic, among others,” the deputy governor said.

Egbeyemi advised the management team of the university to remain totally loyal to the administration of Fasina to enable the university to grow to an enviable position among its counterparts.
