The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) has given Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State an Award of Excellence for his prudent management of public resources, accountability, transparency and good governance.

The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) has given Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State an Award of Excellence for his prudent management of public resources, accountability, transparency and good governance.

The Chairman of the commission, Mr Victor Muruako, who presented the award to the governor during a courtesy visit, on Monday, in Kano, said that the governor’s efforts in that direction should not be left unnoticed.

“We need to appreciate your efforts in the anti-corruption drive. That is why we are honouring you with this exceptional Award of Excellence.

“Our Commission is an Anti-Corruption Agency, we all noticed that you are putting special effort in promoting good governance. It is very clear for all to see that Kano has taken a bold step in the anti corruption effort,” he said.

The Chairman, who appreciated the peaceful coexistence and infrastructural development in the state, explained that they were in Kano for a fiscal transparency and accountability sensitisation workshop for state and non-state actors, with the participation of some selected federal government agencies from the Northwest zone. Responding, Gov Ganduje said that the state’s Anti-Corruption Commission was working effectively.

“We already have a Fiscal Responsibility Bill in the pipeline, at the State House of Assembly. And when we are through with it, we must have a synergy with your Commission,” he said, adding, “We are going to have a homogenous implementation of the drive together”.
