Gates Foundation launches initiative to aid success of SDGs
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has launched its new data on global inequality to overcome a major barrier standing in the way of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
It stated that more than 99 per cent of communities have witnessed improvement in child mortality and schooling, yet gaps in opportunities for nearly half a billion people persist globally.
The foundation’s Communications Officer, Olufunke Olufon, in a statement said the initiative would address the pervasive inequality and approach to development by targeting the poorest people of the world.
According to the statement, Goalkeepers Data Report would be produced yearly till 2030 with its timing to the annual gathering of world leaders for the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
