Emir of Kano, Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero, yesterday, charged Kano State residents of voting age to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) ahead of next year’s general election.

Emir of Kano, Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero, yesterday, charged Kano State residents of voting age to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) ahead of next year’s general election.

Giving the charge, yesterday, when he led the Kano Emirate Council on traditional Hauwa Nassarawa homage to the Government House, Kano, the monarch reminded the electorate that getting the PVC ready for the election is the only sure way to elect leaders of their choice.

He reminded his subjects that Kano remains a strategic state in the country’s politics, adding that votes coming from the state must be carefully determined.

The Emir, however, cautioned the youth against all forms of social vices, especially drug abuse, and any nefarious activity capable of ruining their future. He equally challenged security operatives to tame all forms of security threat and ensure anyone caught is brought to book.
