The Federal Government has dismissed reports of volcanic eruption in Mpape axis of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Director General of Nigerian Geological Survey Agency, Alex Nwegbu, told newsmen yesterday in Abuja that the whitish substance gushing out from the ground was not associated with quakes.
He said samples had been taken to Kaduna for analysis with a view to identifying the nature and composition of the substance.
The area was one of the districts that recently witnessed tremors in the city.
