Government orders foreign missions to promote patronage of Nigerian goods
As part of initiatives to boost the nation’s economy, Nigeria’s foreign missions will henceforth be involved in the sale of products and services produced in the country.
The Federal Government through the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment is partnering the country’s foreign missions abroad in this direction.
This will improve the export of local products, increase revenue, create jobs, and assist in diversifying the economy.
While addressing journalists on the development yesterday in Abuja, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah said a directive had been issued to foreign missions to ensure that visas are processed within 48 hours to encourage investors willing to invest in the country.
He said the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) recently signed by Nigeria in Davos, Switzerland will improve the export of local products, adding that the country’s trade policy is being updated every five years.
