… Says no plan to impeach Adelami

A group has disclosed that a calculated plot to cause political unrest within the administration of Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been uncovered amid allegations of stifling the office of the Deputy Governor of funds.
The group, Ondo State Professionals in Politics Group (ODSPPG) dismissed recent social media claims that the relationship between Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, has deteriorated over alleged unpaid entitlements, describing the allegations as baseless and part of scheme to create tension within the government.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Akure, the group maintained that the investigation revealed that the Commissioner for Finance, Omowumi Isaac, has been operating in full compliance with financial regulations, particularly regarding the running of the Deputy Governor’s office.
The group further stated that claims of over ₦180 million in unpaid running expenses, travelling allowances, and other statutory entitlements owed to Adelami for about eight months could not be verified.
The statement, jointly signed by the group’s State Coordinator, Ayodele Akinlabi, and Secretary, James Oladapo, addressed what it termed “the latest lies” circulating about the Deputy Governor, insisting that available information showed no financial impropriety or deliberate withholding of funds by any government official.
“Our group has found from records that the Finance Commissioner does not at any time withhold statutory entitlements of Dr. Adelami. It is unfair to accuse her of unfounded allegations. Enough is enough; this group will not allow lies to continue to fly undeflated.
“The allegations as being circulated cannot be confirmed by the office of the Deputy Governor, and our group will not subscribe to the plot by some political elements to distract the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa,” the statement read in part.
The group also dismissed accusations against the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, who was alleged to have bypassed the Deputy Governor on the operations of his ministry.
The ODSPPG described the claims as “elementary,” noting that the commissioner was simply operating in line with extant directives from the governor.
The group further assured the public that there was no plot to impeach the deputy governor, contrary to widespread speculations on social media platforms.
The group advised members of the public to disregard what it termed “misinformation and lies” being circulated about the Aiyedatiwa administration, urging citizens to allow the government to concentrate on delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Ondo State.
