Lagos Archdiocesan Catholic Men Organisation (LACMON) has decried the surge in criminality and drug abuse among youths and adults.
Consequently, it chose the theme ‘The family: the vocation and path to the love of God’ for the 11th edition of the LACMON 2024 Family Convention. The focus is ‘Overcoming drug and pornographic addictions in family life.’
The chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, John Maka, and the former Chairman of the 2023 Convention Planning Committee, Mike Ogbechie, disclosed this in Lagos.
They said: “The event which starts today, Friday, August 8 will end tomorrow, Saturday, August 9, 2024” at St. Gregory College field, Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos.
LACMON President Kingsley Ekwem said four key speakers are on the ground to give participants nuggets on overcoming dangerous trending habits.
He also disclosed that the Archbishop of Lagos Metropolitan See, The Most Rev Alfred Adewale Martins, will hold mass on Saturday at the convention.
According to Ekwem, the speakers include Bridget Itsueli and Dr Deji Osasona.
