Group distributes food items, cash to Muslims in Akure

The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has distributed food items and cash to its members and the Muslim community in Ondo State for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

According to the Director General of the group, Ademola Adegoroye, the gesture formed part of the group’s outreach programmes to support its members as well as the Muslim community during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Adegoroye, who was represented by a former deputy governor of Ondo State, Lasisi Oluboyo, stated that the gift items were in line with Islamic teachings during Ramadan.

He said: “The gift items are in consonance with what the Quran enjoins Muslims to do during Ramadan, to give out to the needy. TSG, led by Adegoroye, decided to give some items to the needy of the Muslim faith to felicitate with them for the month of Ramadan.”

Speaking further, Oluboyo advised Muslim communities to actively participate in politics to enable them to benefit more from the dividends of democracy and good governance.

He particularly admonished Muslim women to engage actively in politics, noting that women would bring development to their families, communities.
