A non-governmental organisation (NGO) focused on helping the less-privileged and children with special needs in Nigeria, Worship For Change, has called on Nigerians to support the indigent, and children with special needs.

Founder of the group, Wale Adenuga, at a media parley in Lagos, disclosed plans to raise funds during its Green Worship Concert 6.0 to support indigent children, orphans and children with special needs.

The concert will be held on October 2, at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos from 4:00p.m.

He said the group, which was founded in 2006, organises the Green Worship Concert yearly to raise funds for charity organisations across Nigeria, that care for vulnerable children, and those with special needs.

Adenuga said the NGO is committed to raising awareness and support for charities that care for orphans, children with special needs and indigent children.

The gospel artist said the concert has been successfully organised over the years with the N15 million proceeds from last year’s concert shared among five charity organisations, who received N3 million each.

Also, the Chief Responsibility Officer, Let Cerebral palsy Kids Learn Foundation, Tobilola Ajayi, commended the initiative in which the foundation was part of the previous beneficiaries where it received N3 million.

She said the funds received from the initiative has enabled the foundation to cater for the school fees of 18 children, support 10 mothers through its Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) business development programme, as well as provide emergency healthcare funds to 12 families to support their children’s health needs and medications.

According to her, over 70 families have benefitted from the green worship donation made to the foundation.
