Group urges support for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential bid
The call came from by the national coordinator AH2H (Atiku House 2 House), retired Col. Chinyere Obi, at a Lagos retreat of the campaign support group held in Lagos.
She said: “Atiku Abubakar’s presidency is an idea whose time has come and I sincerely believe that, no amount of sacrifice will be too much, to turn this dream to reality. I urge all of us to key into this dream and make all needed sacrifice to achieve this, which obviously and clearly is what Nigerians desire at this critical point in our lives as a nation.
“However, the making of Atiku Abubakar’s presidency, is not and will not be a tea party, as those benefitting from the current status quo, will do everything humanly possible to stop this moving train. Atiku Abubakar, cannot do this alone.
“All lovers of our democracy, our country and who believe in Waziri Adamawa’s capacity, content, character and commitment to a better Nigeria, a country where we all shall be made equal stakeholders, where we shall be free to associate and express ourselves on any issue bothering on the national question or the Nigerian project, where no Nigerian, will go to bed on an empty stomach, where our God-given wealth shall be equitably distributed, should give, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar all the support he needs to first and foremost, to get nominated as People’s Democratic party(PDP) candidate for 2019 presidential election and ultimately be democratically elected president.
“AH2H support for Atiku Abubakar is purely based on his verifiable accomplishments and contributions to the process of the building a great Nigeria.
“Atiku is a man who has managed human and material resources successfully, yet remained humble and broadminded. A man who has broken religious and tribal lines to make his name a household name in all nooks and crannies of our country, deserves our support.
“Atiku is unassuming, calm, welcoming, tolerant, sensitive, has listening ears but still firm and courageous. We need this man, to lead this great nation to our destined position in Africa and the world. Let us support him, with all we have gotten.
“To all excos (national, zonal, state, local government and wards), I appreciate you all sincerely and thank you for all your sacrifices. To all members here present and those not here, without you, there won’t be us, the leaders.”
Some of key members of the group interviewed spoke in the same vein. They included Emeka Gerald Wabara (Deputy National Coordinator/Head of Administration/Operations and Zainab Mohammed (national women leader).
