Gunmen abduct former Nasarawa State deputy governor
Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Professor Onje Gye-Wado, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
This was disclosed in a press release by the spokesperson of the state Police, DSP Ramhan Nansel.
According to Nansel, Gye-Wado was taken away Friday morning when gunmen broke into his residence in Gwagi village of Wamba Local government area of the state.
He said a search has been initiated by a police tactical team in collaboration with other security personnel to rescue Gye-Wado.
Also, the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Maiyaki Baba has reassured that effort is in place to rescue the victim.
Baba called on anyone with useful information that will aid the Police in their rescue operation.
