Gunmen kill Mimiko’s security aide

Gunmen, yesterday, shot and killed the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko.The deceased, Idowu Oyewole, 45, was until his death a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

A father of three, the late Oyewole was shot in the early hours of the day at his residence along Akure/Owo road.Dare, son of the deceased, said following a distress call that armed robbers had stormed the area, Oyewole had picked his service pistol and stepped out to confront the hoodlums.

Police spokesman, Femi Joseph, confirmed the killing, saying investigation had commenced. He described the late Oyewole as a disciplined and hard working officer.
