Police have confirmed the death of a businessman, one Mr. Timehin Ijabikenwa in his residence in Ipele, Ondo State.

Timilehin was shot dead on October 8, 2019.

An eyewitness said Timilehin’s killers were unknown gunmen dressed like the Islamist group, with their entire bodies covered in garments except for their eyes. The eyewitness said the businessman died on the spot.

The eyewitness further said prior to shooting dead the businessman, the gunmen demanded the whereabouts of his staff, one Mr. Dada Funso.

Divisional Police Officer(DPO) Ipele Divisional Police Headquarters said the unfortunate incident was reported by some good Samaritans, and that the corpse of the deceased has since been deposited at the Ipele Mortuary, Ondo State.

The DPO promised that the perpetrators of the heinous act will not go unpunished as the police have commenced a full and thorough investigation into the killing of the businessman and the burning down of one Mr. Olaseni’s cocoa farm the same day.

He urged residents to be security conscious and report to the police any suspicious activity or persons. He disclosed that the corpse has since been taken to the mortuary.
