Hijab: AbdulRazaq names white paper committee on Ijagbo school
Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has appointed a six-man white paper committee on the Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo, Hijab crisis.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, and made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Friday.
It said Mr Amuda Kannike (SAN) is the committee Chairman while Mr Amos Thompson would serve as its Secretary.
Other members of the committee are Mr Joseph Bamigboye (SAN), Dr Haruna Baba Gogata, Mrs F.O. Titiloye, and Dr Saadat Yusuf.
“The committee will examine and make actionable recommendations to the government on the report of the panel that had investigated the development in the school over the Muslim Hijab (headwear).
“The committee has two weeks from the first day of its sitting to submit its report,” the statement read in part.
NAN recalls that AbdulRazaq had earlier set up a 7-man committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the violence in Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo, in February.
