‘Hold Melaye responsible for any breakdown of law’

If He Goes Ahead With His Planned Protest,’ Kogi Gov
Kogi State government has raised alarm over possible breakdown of law and order if Senator Dino Melaye should be allowed to go ahead with his planned protest in his Ayetoro Gbede country home.

The government said it is crying out now in view of the fact that the arranged pro-Dino’s protest sponsored by the senator and scheduled for today in the state will be hijacked and may result to political hostilities and chaos.

Special Adviser to the state government on security, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd) who disclosed this in Lokoja yesterday urged the senator to stop his supporters from carrying out the protest to press home their support over the last Easter eve assassination attempt on the senator.

Omodara said some anti -Dino groups are also drumming up a counter protest on the same day stressing that it will lead to chaos. Omodara who questioned the unresponsiveness of Dino’s security men during the attack took a swipe at him for sponsoring a protest when the police are investigating the matter.

Reacting, Melaye said everyone knows that he is a peaceful and law abiding Nigerian and there is no plan whatsoever to disorganize the peace of the state.
