Lamenting over the high level of insecurity in the country, Labour leader, Issa Aremu has said that it is high time Nigerians hold the police and other security operatives responsible for the attacks and killings across the nation.

Aremu, a National Executive Council (NEC) member of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), however said that the controversy surrounding the debate over the $1bn earmarked by the presidency to fight Boko Haram and other forms of insurgency in Nigeria was unhelpful.

Commiserating with the Kwara state government, Olofa of Offa and the people of Offa over the armed robbery attacks of a number of commercial banks with the attendant killings of policemen and bank customers, he insisted that security agencies should be held accountable for its inability to fight crime successfully.
