Hoodlums burgle FCT grain reserves, senator’s homes
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) grain reserves at Gwagwalada and Idu communities, were yesterday, invaded by hoodlums who stole several bags.
The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, who confirmed the burglary, said the thieves overpowered the few security personnel on ground.
He said: ‘”The hoodlums numbering over 300 overpowered the security personnel that were on ground. They broke the warehouse and carted away several bags of grains.”
The Special Assistant SA (Media) to the FCT Minister of State, Austin Elemue, clarified that the structure was not a COVID-19 palliative warehouse but “FCT agriculture grain reserves.”
HOWEVER, some youths have attacked the homes, farms and properties of Senator Adelere Oriolowo after a futile search for COVID-19 palliatives.
In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by his Senior Legislative Aide, Adam Adedimeji, the lawmaker added that the attackers carted away and vandalised some of his valuables running into millions of naira during the early morning raid on his Iwo and Osogbo abode at the weekend.
