Hoodlums invade Imo police station, kill two, injure three

The state command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Orlando Ikeokwu, a Superintendent of Police (SP), in a statement, said though two officers lost their lives while others were injured, other officers repelled the hoodlums.

The statement said the new Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Mohammed, who visited the officers at the local clinic, directed that they be evacuated to a better medical outfit for quality medical attention.

The CP, the statement said, has ordered joint investigation to apprehend the perpetrators, asking the Command’s Quick Intervention Team (QUIT), and other tactical teams to jointly commence investigation into the incident, with a view to arresting perpetrators of the dastardly act.”

The CP also visited the station for on-the-spot assessment and evaluation of the incident.
