Indications have emerged that kerosene may soon become available to members of the public from the Osisioma Aba PPMC Depot in Abia state following the recent resumed pumping of the product from the Port Harcourt Refinery.

The Guardian gathered that the pumping of the product was done last about sixteen (16) years ago due to vandalism of the pipeline between Aba and Port Harcourt.

It was also gathered that the vandalism is being tackled by UTM Offshore Ltd, the company engaged by government to guard the pipeline up to Enugu. Confirming the development, the Chairman of the Aba Depot branch of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association Of Nigeria (IPMAN) Bobby Dick, told The Guardian that everyone is elated by the resumed pumping of the product after many years and urged government to quickly address issues like pipeline vandalism to ensure uninterrupted pumping.

However, the groups engaged by UTM Offshore Ltd for protecting the pipeline, are threatening to abandon the pipelines if their payment continues to be delayed.

Commenting on the development, the Executive Director of UTM Offshore Ltd, Kennedy Azodey pleaded with the government to continue to do the needful to enable his company meet its obligation.
