The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has provided clear instructions on how the Nigerian National Anthem and National Pledge should be properly used during official events and special occasions.
According to the NOA, only the first stanza of the National Anthem should be recited or sung at all official events.
The third stanza is designated to be rendered as the National Prayer at the beginning of such events.
The agency also instructed that all three stanzas of the National Anthem are to be performed exclusively on special national occasions.
These include Independence Day, Presidential Inaugurations, Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Democracy Day (June 12), and the inauguration of the National Assembly.
NOA also added that the National Pledge should be recited at the end of official events.
