OGFTZ Chairman bags Doctorate degree from American University

American Management University, West Covina, California, USA has honoured the Chairman of the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ) and Nigeria, Dr. Hafsat Oduwole Balewa with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Management and Humanitarian Studies.

Dr. Balewa also bagged the Entrepreneur of The Year 2024 Award from the Africa Advancement Forum in the United Kingdom.

A statement issued by the media team of OGFTZ, indicated that the award ceremony took place on Friday, October 25th, 2024, at the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane in London, UK.

According to the statement, Balewa’s exceptional contributions to leadership, economic growth, and sustainable development across Africa and the EMEA region earned her the accolades.

“Her visionary leadership has not only elevated the status of OGFTZ but has also positioned the Zone as one of the leading industrial powerhouse in Ogun State”, the statement read.

It also indicated that under Balewa’s guidance, the OGFTZ has flourished, “attracting substantial foreign investment, fostering job creation, and supporting local supply chains, all of which have propelled the Free Trade Zone to new heights in the industrial sector”.

“The Africa Advancement Forum, a global organization committed to responsible African leadership, endorsed Dr. Balewa for the awards, which underscored her dedication to humanitarian initiatives and sustainable business practices.”

These awards, according to the statement have not only recognized her outstanding influence but also welcomed her into the American Management University’s prestigious alumni network, connecting her with global leaders dedicated to positive change.

“The management and staff of OGFTZ proudly celebrate Dr. Balewa’s achievements, acknowledging her role in OGFTZ’s success and her commitment to the ongoing progress of industrial development in Africa,” the statement read.
