HYT Consulting has concluded the third edition of its Employability Bootcamp, equipping more than 130 graduates, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and early-career professionals with practical sales, workplace readiness and employability skills aimed at improving their prospects in Nigeria’s competitive labour market.
The five-day programme, held from June 22 to 26, 2026, focused on careers in the financial services and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, providing participants with practical training designed to bridge the gap between academic qualifications and workplace expectations.
The initiative was developed in response to a persistent challenge in Nigeria’s labour market, where many graduates possess academic credentials but lack the practical skills, professional exposure and workplace competencies sought by employers.
Through its Sales Cohort, HYT Consulting introduced participants to one of the country’s most accessible career pathways, preparing them with the technical, commercial and interpersonal skills required to succeed in high-demand industries.
This year’s edition marked the programme’s largest expansion yet, combining physical and virtual learning formats to accommodate participants from Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. Organisers said the hybrid approach reflects the growing national relevance of the Employability Bootcamp as a platform connecting young people with industry-focused training, workplace readiness and employment opportunities.
A key highlight of the closing ceremony was the participation of representatives from the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) under the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment (FMLE), reinforcing the importance of public-private collaboration in tackling youth unemployment and strengthening workforce development.
Speaking at the event, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HYT Consulting, Folusho Odegbaike, said the bootcamp has evolved beyond a conventional training programme into a platform that prepares participants to contribute meaningfully from the first day of employment.
“HYT Employability Bootcamp has grown beyond just a training programme. It has become a platform where we transform talent into employable professionals. We equip our participants with the competence, confidence, professionalism and mindset to deliver for employers. Our goal is simple: to produce candidates who are able to create value from day one,” she said.
Odegbaike stressed that sustained investment in employability initiatives benefits not only young professionals but also organisations seeking skilled and productive employees.
“Ultimately, investing in people is not a cost; it is the highest return on investment an organisation can make. Organisations that partner with HYT benefit from a pipeline of candidates who are more engaging, committed and productive. When employees succeed, the company succeeds, and that is the value this bootcamp continues to create for participants, employers and partners,” she added.

Also speaking, representative of the Migrant Resource Centre, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Yusuf Adeoye, said programmes that equip young people with practical workplace skills play an important role in improving employability and promoting inclusive economic growth.
“Initiatives like the HYT Employability Bootcamp are important because they respond to the needs of the labour market and support young Nigerians with practical skills that can improve their readiness for work. By connecting training to employment pathways, programmes like this contribute to a stronger and more prepared youth workforce,” he said.
Adeoye also emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration between government agencies, private organisations and training providers to create more employment opportunities for Nigerian youths.
Reflecting on the transformation observed during the programme, People Director at HYT Consulting, Morayosola Bakare-Sofidiya, said participants demonstrated significant improvements in confidence, communication and professional presentation.
“This initiative is helping participants bridge the gap between leaving school as greenhorns and becoming ready for work. During the selection process, we observed that many of them had potential, but their responses were still a bit unrefined. By the end of the training, especially during interviews with prospective employers, the difference was clear. Their confidence had grown, they answered with more intelligence, and they became more open to the opportunities ahead of them,” she said.
Participants also described the programme as a transformative learning experience.

One of the beneficiaries, Tolulope Taiwo, said the bootcamp reshaped her understanding of sales and professional development.
“Before the bootcamp, I saw sales mainly as getting people to buy a product. Now, I understand that sales is about helping people see how a product or service can solve their problems. I also learned a lot about professionalism, attitude and personal branding in the workplace. The experience has been fun, interactive and very insightful, and I learned not just from the trainers, but from everyone in the room,” she said.
Organisers noted that the programme also offers job placement opportunities to outstanding participants, reinforcing its commitment to connecting training with employment outcomes.
The latest edition builds on the success of the previous two cohorts, with HYT Consulting positioning the Employability Bootcamp as a recurring platform for skills development, employer engagement and career placement support for young Nigerians entering the workforce.
