A 48-year-old mother of three, Mrs. Chioma Anyanwu, who was kidnapped on June 21 and released four days later by her abductors, has narrated her ordeal while in the abductors’ den.

Anyanwu was abducted on the Lokoja Road in Kogi State on her way to Abuja by five armed kidnappers.

Anyanwu described her ordeal as horrific. She told family and friends that her husband paid a ransom, but declined to disclose the amount.

According to her, the kidnappers stopped their station wagon transport vehicle and selected four passengers, two men and two women.

She said: “We were immediately blindfolded and marched into the bush and we were asked to hold each other’s hands. We trekked for over thirty minutes and we were asked to sit down, while they scroll through our phones.

“We barely had anything to eat throughout the four days, coupled with their incessant threats as they desperately demanded ransoms.”

Her husband, Anyanwu, thanked God for the release of his wife.

He said the kidnappers seriously warned him not to involve security agencies, adding that the experience was not only traumatic but hellish.
